Sidekick: Nice Links

I really enjoy two sites that don’t really write much, but show nice images.

1) advertising focused: AdBlather. Here you can find nice print advertising. Ads from magazines or outdoor. But always executions with a nice little idea with it. Really enjoyed most of these sofar.

2) Photography: iso800 by Fabian Mohr. Really nice Photography, also some commentary (in german) on how some of these pictures were taken. Amateur Photographers like myself can really learn a lot here!

More online gadgets: Color picker

Cool, just as guess the google was. This one now let’s you search for pictures by colour.
Love it, even though I have no use for it, it’s nice to browse through these pictures.
I guess this should be adapted by the getty images online platform – for Art Directors looking for pictures with similar colour spectrum…

With Yahoo you can set your mind.

Yahoo has just launched a new search from their labs: intent driven search – called Yahoo Mindset. You can fine tune the results you get by moving a slider on a horizontal axis between „research“ and „shopping“ – admittingly the two most common intents people might have on the net.

Typing in the words „Mobile phone“ I got the following top two results (after the sponsored results!):

Research intent:
Cellular Phone Antennas and Human Health
Mobile Phone Virus >> News, Reviews and Alerts

Shopping intent
Amazon.com: Cell Phones & Service
Mobile Fun Limited

So that proves it works well. But how will they expand this tool, when they take other intents into consideration, that users might want on the internet, like communicate or play?

Play the Mojomaster or be played

Axe continues to play on the game of seduction (see Evan and Gareth) with an upcoming game called the Mojomaster.

It looks much like the „Singles“ game to me. Except that they will have some advertising in the game, I’m certain. You can test your seduction skills on virtual women-avatars. Quite sure this will contribute to the stupidification of society.
We had the Sims, we have Secondlife and There. These are, at least communities of real members, even though I don’t understand how you can spend so much time „talking“ to people you will most likely never get to know personally. But in this game your flirting with your computer.

Also, extremely annoying – I have not yet found out how to turn the sound of this thing off.
