„New“ Online Game by Absolut Vodka

Absolut Vodka has a new online game out: similar to other campaigns I have seen already, this one is once again about spotting things in a large messy picture.

In this particular game, you need to find 82 of the typical Absolut bottles within 2 minutes. I guess with some practise you can do that, but certainly not on first try. So this one is good for repeated and prolonged brand experience!
And it fits well with their well-known advertising concept.

German Chancellorette has her own Video-Podcast

Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany, has a video-podcast since today. Her first vidcast was FIFA Worldcup message, no surprise.

Now that has got to be a first. Or is there any other country whose Nr. 1 politician has a video-podcast?

The first time in a long time, that I actually really appreciate something my government has started!

Apparently, this will be a regular vidcast (or: „rather“ regular, as she said). Let’s see if the next one will actually have some more information other than a cheer for the worldcup.

One thing she did, though, in a very 2.0-ish fashion: she asked us for comments. She would like us to send her our opinions via email. I wonder if she will read out some of them during her next vidcast. If she does – and if she answers them informatively, then: wow!

Silly Worldcup Marketing

In Germany, a pizza delivery service now created a selection of worldcup pizzas. Each participating country is represented by one pizza on the menue.

(Here you can find the whole menue)

Interesting, what this german pizza delivery thinks about the Germans – or the German football team. Especially if you compare the German toppings with the numerous toppings of other nations. Just cheese and salami for Germany? Guess they characterise our gameplay as just that. Plain, simple, almost boring – yet sufficient.

Funnily enough I found this on a blog from the US.

And McDonalds announced the fact, that they are offering the worldcup Big Mac. Which is 40% bigger than the regular Big Mac. What’s that got to do with the worldcup? No idea. It’s not even a very original promo.

Worldcup: skyarena in Frankfurt

I wasn’t able to take pictures myself, but this one here from Flickr shows the magnificent installation that was done in Frankfurt. A video installation with 45 minutes of football history projected on to the skyscrapers of downtown Frankfurt. Absolutely amazing!

Some more information about this huge project can be found here (in German).

Football Worldcup

I have just opened up a new category: Football Worldcup. As things get chaotic here in Frankfurt due to the worldcup, there are also numerous ads and marketing things happening. I will try to display as many as I can in this category.

On the 9th of July, when the worldcup is finished, this category shall be closed again.
